Inquiries about submitting a manuscript should precede submission. Please contact Mary Carol Kendzia for such inquiries at mckendzia@bayard-inc.com . She will provide you with submission guidelines.

Once approved for submission, manuscripts should be sent to Mary Carol Kendzia, Twenty-Third Publications, 1 Montauk Ave, #200 , New London , CT 06320 . Please submit them in print format, and in addition in electronic format on a CD.

Manuscripts should be single spaced, roman typestyle (use underlining, bold, and italic sparingly), flush left, ragged right. No hard carriage returns, except at the end of paragraphs. Do not use tabs or double space between paragraphs or at the end of sentences. Do not use ALL CAPS.

Do not design the manuscript. We will design the book in-house.

Identify (on the disk label) the computer program used. We can translate most PC and Mac OS software. We prefer documents in Microsoft Word, if possible.

Footnotes: type the number at the end of the sentence or word. Do not change type style or size. Do not put the number in parenthesis.

If your book requires an index, please do not compose the index ahead of time. You can compose the index when the book is edited and formatted; or we can hire an outside indexer to do this work (the author is responsible for the cost, however).

If your book requires permission for any quoted material or references, the author is responsible both for obtaining that permission as well as paying any related fees. (Check with us if you are not sure whether permissions are necessary for your book.)

If you are using illustrations, please provide these in a separate jpg or TIFF file. Also, if you have any graphs, charts, or illustrations with your book these may be recreated by our in-house art department.
